Robert H. Chaney  founded the firm in 1993.  Mr. Chaney was formerly President & CEO of Paramount Petroleum Co., which he co-founded in 1986.  Paramount was a technological leader, especially in 3-D seismic and petrophysical technologies.  Mr. Chaney and his partner Bob Schneeflock, built Paramount into the industry’s premier prospect generating and marketing company, and the leading explorer in the Southeastern U.S.  From 1989-93, it made 30 discoveries on internally generated prospects, resulting in reserves of over 50 million barrels of oil equivalent. Paramount merged into Nuevo Energy in 1992. Mr. Chaney continued as President & CEO of Paramount as it became the exploration subsidiary of Nuevo, until he left to form R. Chaney & Co., Inc. the following year.

Paula L. Pearce  is Executive Vice President - Administration and has been with the firm since inception.  Formerly, she was Assistant to the President for Paramount Petroleum Co. for 3 years, and in a similar position with Red Adair Company, Inc. for 10 years.

Sarah P. Chisholm  joined the firm in 2003 and is Chief Financial Officer.  Previously, she was in senior financial management positions in the oil and gas, telecommunications and information technology industries.  She began her career and earned her CPA designation at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mrs. Chisholm is a graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting.
